To be honest, years ago I NEVER would have thought Id have a career in fitness...
As a child I was overweight, and got teased back in grade school. I remember as far back as 8 years old, crying to my Mom that I was "fat."
By my early teens I was all-too-familiar with the world of dieting. I spent all of my years as a teenconstantly on fad diets, restricting myself, then eventually getting frustrated and falling off track andbinging... Making me feelworse than ever. It was a vicious cycle.
My freshman year of college my diet consisted of cereal, MMs, muffins, Pop Tarts, pizza, diet soda, vodka and sugary coffee drinks. I didnt see the inside of a gym ONCE that year...
By the time I came home from school in the summer I was MISERABLE about how I looked. I had put on 25 pounds!!!
I started trying to eat better and lose weight but the truth is, I didnt have a clue about proper diet and nutrition.
Every diet attempt ended in failure. And with every failed diet (followed by a binge) my metabolism slowed a bit more, and my spirits sank to new lows.
